Fighting Hunger, One Bag at a Time
The Open Hands Backpack Program is a partnership between The Bridge Foursquare Church, Christiansburg Elementary, and Christiansburg Primary Schools. Together, we’re meeting the needs of children facing food insecurity by sending them home each weekend and during school breaks with bags filled with meals and snacks.
Each week, over 50 students receive backpacks with 2 breakfast items, 2 lunch items, 2 dinner items, 2 snacks, and a juice — ensuring no child goes hungry when school is out.

how can you help!
You can be a part of the Open Hands Backpack Program by getting involved in a variety of meaningful ways. Whether it’s packing bags once a month, delivering food to schools each week, donating food or funds, or simply lifting the children and families we serve in prayer, every contribution makes a difference. Together, we can help ensure that no child in our community goes hungry.
