Gifted for the Mission

This sermon explores the concept of spiritual gifts in the Christian faith. Teaching Elder, Debbie Courtney, uses a unique analogy of vegetables to illustrate various types of gifts, with each vegetable representing a different category.  Radishes represent ministry gifts, which are leadership roles within the church as described in Ephesians 4. Lettuce symbolizes manifestation gifts, which are supernatural abilities given by the Holy Spirit as listed in 1 Corinthians 12. Finally, green peppers stand for motivational gifts, which are character traits and talents given by God to serve others, highlighted in Romans 12 and 1 Peter 4. She emphasizes that these gifts are not possessions but rather tools given by God for the purpose of building up the church and serving others.
