Fruit That Remains
Oct 3, 2021 • Pastor Will Fillingham
This sermon draws inspiration from the story of Jesus encountering a woman caught in adultery in John 8:1-11 to illustrate the importance of "missional gentleness" in Christian life. Pastor Will emphasizes three aspects of this gentleness: posture, patience, and presence. Posture refers to putting oneself on the same level as those in need, just as Jesus knelt down to write in the dirt. Patience is shown through gentle words and actions, as seen in Jesus' response to the accusers and the woman. Presence, marked by Jesus' declaration that he would not condemn the woman, brings an end to shame and condemnation.
